2008 BEIJING OLYMPICS

    With the arrival of the 2008 olympics, Beijing is definitely at its peak these days. If you missed the Opening Ceremony, I can definitely tell you it was truly epic. Director Zhang Yi Mo delivered with spectacular shows that wowed the audience. The Opening Ceremony consisted of two parts. The first section showed off China's five thousand year heritage with a giant scroll that unrolled slowly to reveal the world's largest LCD screen. Drummers put on quite a show with their in-synch movements. 2,008 tai chi experts practiced their art for the audience.

    Over 100 countries paraded the stadium, also known as bird's nest. As the last country to parade the stadium, China made a grand entrance with Yao Ming as the flag bearer. Next to Yao, proudly walked Lin Hao, a little boy who survived the Sichuan earthquakes. China had over 600 athletes at the stadium, which make China the country with the most athletes.
